The SAS Research Journal's goal is to highlight high-level student research while maintaining accessibility for researchers in different fields and backgrounds. Below is our publication process.
1: Submission
Check out this section.
2: Preliminary Review
All submitted papers undergo a preliminary review, addressing plagiarism, grammar, and citation consistency by the SASRJ team. Any questions or challenges that arise during this process will be clearly communicated to the author, for further discussion.
3: Faculty Review
Advancing to the second phase, all papers undergo a thorough evaluation by faculty members. This phase includes field-specific assessment and employs a name-blind evaluation process. For each submission, a teacher reviewer with relevant expertise is assigned based on the paper's research field. Each reviewer conducts a thorough review of each paper and provides one of the following decisions:
Accept the paper
Accept the paper pending agreed-upon edits (with specified edits listed)
Decline the paper
Each reviewer will provide a detailed description of the reasoning behind the decision and feedback.
4: Feedback and Additional Edits
The reviewer communicates the decision and provides concise reasons for their judgment to SASRJ. The feedback, maintaining the option for anonymity, is forwarded to the student submitter for consideration. Depending on the final decision, authors will have the opportunity to make additional edits before futher review.
5: Publication
Once all authors have received their finalized publication decisions, additional information will be sent to author's asking for supporting materials prior to publication in the upcoming issue of the SAS Research Journal.
